MONDRAGÓN UNIVERSITY AND MONDRAGÓN ASSEMBLY SIGN AN AGREEMENT IN MEXICO
- The University has signed a collaboration agreement with production line automation specialists MONDRAGÓN Assembly.
- The idea is to replicate the MONDRAGÓN Corporation’s collaboration and integration model in Spain.
- The scheme will facilitate work placement projects for the University students and provide study grants for Mondragón Assembly’s workers.
Mexico, Querétaro, 5 October 2016.- With the aim of repeating the collaboration network set up between the Mondragón Corporation companies in Spain, the MONDRAGÓN University in Mexico and the automation company MONDRAGÓN Assembly in Querétaro have signed a collaboration agreement to aid the development of both students and employees, explains Rafael Villeda, the University’s Director of Student Affairs.
The purpose of the agreement is to replicate the support model used by the Mondragón Corporation companies in Spain, helping students find work placements at the Corporation’s different cooperatives while giving the employees the chance to continue their training at the University.
“The Mondragón University in Spain was in fact created with the aim of training workers to join the Group companies, as there was a market need for these future employees”, Mr. Villeda affirms.
MONDRAGÓN Assembly is a company specialising in production line automation for a variety of markets such as car production, solar power, electronic components, medical equipment, household appliance components and cosmetics.
In February this year the firm opened its new plant in Querétaro to cater to increased demand for the special machinery and solar power equipment it manufactures in Mexico.
Under the terms of the agreement, the University students can participate in work placement schemes to achieve their goal of completing their degree courses with two years’ work experience, as established by the University’s learning model.
At the same time, the employees are offered grants to study degree courses – for either themselves or their children – other courses, diplomas and online vocational studies, with discounts of between 10% and 50% for the online courses, the Director explains.
